Purpose The purpose of the LTER multimedia gallery is to provide high quality images that represent ecosystems and/or research and education activities at Within the LTER Network. The gallery will serve as a showcase of LTER activities to the LTER community, the wider ecological community, and the general public. The images in the gallery will be free and accessible to anyone who visits the site, subject to terms and conditions of use.
1.The contributor and/or photographer must agree to LNO submission and use policies. All submitted images automatically become the property of the LTER Network and can be used accordingly. Any party that objects to this condition should not submit images to the LTER multimedia gallery.
2.Images should be high-quality JPG(for Photos) or GIF/PNG(for Graphics), preferably with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
3.Images must depict an ecosystem/habitat, research or education activity at an LTER site or Activity Related to the LTER Network.
4.Images must be accompanied by appropriate metadata. This includes contributor and/or photographer, caption, short description, and site name.
5.Notwithstanding the above conditions, the Public Information Office at the LTER Network Office is ultimately responsible for the contents of the multimedia gallery and therefore reserves the right to accept or reject any photographs or other material submitted for inclusion in the gallery.
1.All images are property of the LTER Network and are free to use within the LTER Network for all publications, organizations, and promotional materials.
2.Images are free to use outside of the LTER Network, with the exception of non-LTER print media, as long as they conform to LTER data use policy.
3.Non-LTER print and commercial users must seek permission from the photographer and/or contributor of the image and may be asked to pay a fee.
4.No editing or modifying of images is allowed outside of the LTER Network.
5.The user must acknowledge the photographer and/or contributor and the LTER Network Office, in the form of a statement: Photo taken by (provided by) ______ courtesy of the LTER Network Office.
