LTER Technology Committee

The LTER Technology Committee provides leadership to the Executive Committee and LTER Coordinating Committee in identifying, assessing and applying new technology and technological approaches to LTER site and intersite research. Membership includes the LTER Coordinating Committee Chair and voting representation from the LTER sites.

Mission

• Advise LTER Coordinating Committee on technology needs to advance LTER science objectives
• Promote application of current technologies and development of new /emerging technology

Goals

• To provide a framework for implementation of new technologies across the LTER Network
• To provide recommendations to LTER sites, funding agencies, and others on technologies needed for ecological research
• Continue to refine minimum standard installation (MSI) of LTER sites for current technology
• To seek out new technologies that will advance ecological science
• define measurement needs where no technology exists.
