Guidelines to Oxford Publishing, for LTER Network scientists and Status of Publication Series (see below)

Please contact McOwiti for a copy of the Contractual Agreement between OUP and LTER concerning the Synthesis Series

 A. steps to dealing with Oxford University Press (OUP):
     a) submit prospectus/outline to Kirk Jensen. Indicate
            - the overall theme
            - why it is important
            - who will be assigned which tasks in producing the volume, including who will be the lead point person
     b) If necessary, remind Kirk Jensen after waiting for 2-3 months maximum.
     c) negotiate changes to prospectus with Jensen, use LTER Publications Committee as an intermediary as necessary.
     d) sign contract (standard LTER contract)
     e) submit all manuscripts (in toto) to OUP
     f) receive copy edited manuscripts (sent to first editor to distribute to authors; returned to OUP in toto by first editor)
     g) receive galley proofs from OUP (sent to first editor only)
     h) submit corrected galley proofs to OUP
     i) submit index to OUP (created from galley proofs)
