Spring 1999 Education Committee Report

• According to Bruce Hayden, the 1999 Schoolyard LTER supplements are nearly all distributed.
• The Education Committee completed a report summarizing activities (such as the Education Workshop, Biosphere II, October 1998). The report was reviewed by the Executive Committee during their February 1999 meeting in Washington D.C. The report was then revised and presented to NSF.
• Education Committee representatives Diane Ebert-May and Patricia Sprott will meet with Bruce Hayden, as well as other DEB, EHR and ISE folks during the week of April 19 - 22 to discuss the possibility of developing an RFP for further funding for education efforts at LTER sites and other field station sites.
• News of the outcome of this meeting will be presented in the Spring 1999 edition of the Network Newsletter
