As concerned, often outraged citizens, our roles are clear. But what can we, as ecologists do? Ecology and environmental science have failed to anticipate the scope of environmental deterioration and cannot predict the consequences of pollution, overfishing and habitat destruction.
We need a new vision of ecology to confront and solve these profound threats to our continued habitation on this planet.
